Clutch

Turning distortions at idle, caused by the necessary teeth profile play of gears, are responsible for noises.

This comfort loss is eliminated efficiently by the ASA radial centrifugal force clutch, which interrupts the flow of power to the supercharger transmission at low engine speeds.

In order to cover different output ranges, variations of the clutch type are used

· K07 up to max 85 Nm Infos
· K07(+) up to max 180 Nm Infos

The operational principle ensures a higher torque with higher revolutions, according to the need of the supercharger. Due to mass retardation during acceleration the possible transferable torque of the clutch has to be selected at a higher level than the compressor needs in the static operating point. The usual life span amounts to at least 120,000 km, checks should take place every 30,000 km.
