The Turbomex Technology

A helical toothed transmission increases the input speed with a ratio of 1:15. The compressor shaft, which is led by antifriction bearings, can reach rpm's of up to 150 000. Thereby lagre mass flows can be achieved, despite compact design and low weight.

Centrifugal compressors, as the TurboMex, have in prineiple a high efficiency. This can be realised in particular under partial load, as a Special sealingtechnology, that also works reliably at underpressure, is used. Thus it is possible to do without an energy reducing bypass system. Therefore the butterfly valve is installed in the air intake, in front of the compressor.

The combination of the ASA centrifugal clutch, the helical toothed transmission and the centrifugal compressor is the reason for low noise emissions, comparable to a turbocharger.

In the hd - version hybrid ball bearings are used, which do not have conventional steel balls, but ceramic balls. The vital advantage of ceramic balls are the remarkable lower masses, that make higher rpm possible, due to lower centrifugal forces. For the hd - version the quality requirements of the parts are even higher and the balance of the compressor unit is more precise.
